As the Director, People and Business Partnering, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping this journey. Joining an already established and high-performing People Team, you’ll be the first to lead and scale the People and Business Partnering function. You’ll work closely with leaders and employees alike to align people strategies with business goals and ensure that Hi Marley continues to be a place where inclusivity, collaboration, and high performance are at the forefront.
In this role, you’ll balance strategic leadership with hands-on support, guiding our people strategies and helping shape the future of Hi Marley as we continue to grow. We thrive on teamwork and shared enthusiasm, which is why this role involves joining us in the office for two days each week.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Leadership & Partnership:
- Act as both a hands-on partner and a strategic leader, helping employees and leaders align people strategies with the company’s business goals.
- Partner with leaders to create forward-thinking and operationally effective people strategies across departments.
- Lead initiatives around leadership development, succession planning, and change management to support organizational growth.
- Leverage people analytics to provide data-driven insights that inform workforce planning, engagement, and retention strategies.
Shape Organizational Design & Workforce Planning:
- Lead organizational design projects to ensure clarity in roles, career growth, and team scalability as we grow.
- Develop long-term workforce planning strategies that help Hi Marley anticipate future talent needs and prepare for ongoing success.
Champion Culture:
- Champion Hi Marley’s inclusive, high-performance culture by driving programs that align our values with day-to-day operations.
- Design and implement data-driven programs to improve engagement and retention, ensuring our team feels supported and valued.
- Address employee relations issues with a fair, values-driven approach.
Drive Leadership & Talent Development:
- Build and execute a comprehensive talent and leadership development strategy that aligns with business goals.
- Develop leadership programs, including coaching, communities of practice and succession planning, to ensure leadership continuity and organizational growth.
- Use data to inform talent decisions and ensure Hi Marley’s future success by identifying and nurturing high-potential talent.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degrees are a bonus.
- Significant experience in HR/People leadership roles, particularly in business partnering, organizational effectiveness, and fast-growing companies.
- Proven ability to blend strategic vision with hands-on execution, helping leaders navigate complex people challenges while staying future-focused.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments and business units.
- Demonstrated experience leading change management initiatives in high-growth or evolving organizations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption. \
- Experience designing and implementing leadership development programs, including coaching and succession planning.
- Strong expertise in leveraging data analytics to drive talent decisions and shape people strategies, with a track record of implementing data-driven initiatives.
- A deep commitment to building inclusive, people-first environments and a track record of handling complex employee relations issues.
- Experience in high-growth or start-up environments, with the ability to scale people operations and drive organizational effectiveness.
